On October 10, Minnesota Original Music Festival is hosting our Roots Music Exchange at Patrick’s on Third in St. Peter. This event begins with a workshop with Ben Scruggs and Josh Reinitz at 5 pm where musicians of all types can bring an instrument, share a song, and jam along with each other. Ben and Josh will draw on their experience with song circles and improvisation for a fun and collaborative experience. There will be an opportunity near the end of the workshop to perform as a group for the public.
At 7 pm following the workshop, Josh Reinitz will perform a set of original music with his band, featuring tunes from his upcoming debut album.
At 8 pm, Saltydog, a Duluth based improvisational funk-folk-jam band will perform a feature show. They have been performing venues and festivals throughout the Midwest and we are excited to host them for the Roots Music Exchange.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund, with additional support from the City of Saint Peter.
