Tonight, we celebrate the rich tapestry of African American superstitions, sayings, and beliefs that have carried wisdom, protection, and community through generations.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of culture, community, and competition as we dive into the folklore, traditions, and everyday magic that shaped Black life—from the power of words and rituals to the customs passed down in families and neighborhoods.

Every month, we pop up at a Black-owned business in Memphis, and on Friday, October 3rd, we’re taking over Shaunee’s Place (right next to A&R BBQ) for a night full of good vibes, great food, and even better company.

This month, we’re shining a light on the sayings that raised us, the beliefs that guided us, and the superstitions that still echo in our culture today.
