In a time when the world feels heavy, divided and chaotic, you are invited to step away for a while.Join author Christy Berghoef and poet Jack Ridl along with West Michigan photographers and musicians for a special evening of music, poetry, photography, and lyrical readings that celebrate the beauty that surrounds us- in the natural world, in creativity, and in the resilience of community. Together we will pause, listen, and reflect on the wonder that still exists all around us, even in challenging times.
Throughout the evening, artists and storytellers will share music, poems, images, and words that remind us of the gifts of being alive: light through trees, the power of a voice raised in song, the comfort of gathering with others, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
This event is offered as a GIFT to the community and is FREE and open to everyone! It is an experience designed to lift our spirits!
We also want to encourage support on this evening for Michigan Public Radio. Public radio exists because communities believe in thoughtful, unbiased, in-depth journalism, meaningful storytelling, and spaces where art, culture, and ideas can flourish. For those who feel inspired and are able, there will be an opportunity (not a requirement) to give in support of this work.
We will also hear a brief word by way of video from retired Michigan Public environmental writer, Lester Graham and travel writer, activist and television personality, Rick Steves.
Above all, this evening is about gathering together to celebrate beauty, creativity, and hope.
Come take a breath. Come listen. Come remember the beauty that surrounds us.
