Rooted in Calm is my love letter to Black Women. I see the work they put into communities and families. I see the frustrations they carry when systems of oppression overlook and devalue them. I see the needs and burdens they carry. But, I also see their softness, their fears and anxieties, their joys and triumphs. And I see the need for a soft place just for them. A soft place for them to pour back into themselves. This full-day mindfulness retreat is made just for them. This retreat is for those caregivers, the wellness seekers, and the mindfully curious. During this retreat, we will explore what it means to be mindfully living and how to incorporate practices to support that goal. This retreat is experiential - we will practice mindfulness and meditation exercises, nourish our bodies with yoga and a meal that is lovingly prepared, speak to our souls with a soundbath, and connect to nature. And build community with one another. This retreat is beginner-friendly; no experience with mindfulness, meditation, or yoga is needed. You don’t need to bring anything other than you and your willingness to create space just for you.
