Join us and community partners such as Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities, Roosevelt Park Ministries and John Ball Zoo for an afternoon on May 29, 2026 from 5PM-6PM (1259 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW Grand Rapids MI 49503) of connecting with neighbors and kicking off our garden season and our Grow with Us Campaign an effort to secure the future of the Roosevelt Park Community Garden, a space that has become a place of growth, connection, and pride for our neighborhood. You are welcome to be a vendor at this event and share out your programs, events etc. (Vendor you must provide your own chairs and table - there is no fee to be a vendor. (Tent size must be a 10x10). Space is limited first come first reserved for this event, email will be followed up for confirmation of space or waitlist.

The Roosevelt Park Community Garden provides neighbors with equitable access to a welcoming green space where they can plant, grow, and connect. It offers opportunities for neighbors who may not have space at home to cultivate fresh food, nurture relationships, and find peace in nature. The garden serves as a living reflection of community pride a place where growth, sustainability, and connection take root together.
Each year, over 25 neighborhood families cultivate fruits and vegetables such as corn, tomatoes, strawberries, and jalapeños, reflecting the cultural heritage and resilience of the Roosevelt Park community.
Beyond individual gardening plots, the space provides a place for families to gather, connect, and create lasting memories. It’s one of the most photographed and beloved spaces in the neighborhood a true symbol of pride and unity.
