The Legendary RONNIE RICE of the New Colony Six, and Rock & Roll Icon JOE CANTAFIO of JADE 50's together on stage for one night!**** RONNIE RICE picked up a guitar when he was 16 years old and hasn't put it down yet! He began his musical career as a solo performer in Evanston, Illinois. In the late 1960s, Ron joined the Chicago-based group, The New Colony Six and sang lead vocals on many of their hit records, including oldies favorites I Will Always Think About You and Things I'd Like to Say.
In the mid-1970s, Ronnie began developing and perfecting his unique blend of Rock 'n Roll classics. Today, Ronnie performs at over 100-concerts a year throughout the United States—appearing at concert halls, municipal summer festivals, clubs and outdoor events as well as playing for corporate functions and private affairs.
If you have a favorite song, just yell it out! Ronnie knows them all! If you feel like getting up and dancing, go to it! If you want to sing along, sing it LOUD! Just remember, when Ronnie starts singing and playing, the party begins.
If you remember greasers, surfing, hot rods, American Bandstand and all those great dances, fads and songs that came out of Detroit, Philadelphia and California or if you just want to have a really terrific time listening to some great Rock 'n Roll—then you're in for a real treat.
Shift into high gear—the excitement is about to begin. Tune up your doo-wah-diddies and bop-shoo-bops and get ready to shake, rattle and roll with "Mr. Sing-Along" himself—Ronnie Rice.
**** JOE CANTAFIO started his professional music career in 1973 with his band JADE 50’s, “Chicago’s Own Westside Story,” and began setting attendance records wherever they performed.
They were touring the nation by 1975, and in 1977 at the tender age of twenty-two, Cantafio became the Music Director of Dick Clark’s Good Ol’ Rock and Roll Show. Cantafio and JADE 50’s performed with music legends Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Del Shannon, Roy Orbison, The Shirelles, The Coasters and many more. In the early 1980’s they dropped the “50’s” and became JADE, recording original music. Two of those songs received national airplay and were played on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.
Joe’s voice has been heard singing the praises of Shasta Cola, McDonalds, Betty Crocker, Huffy Bikes and hundreds of television and radio commercials.
In the late 1980’s, Joe created The Giant Killers, who performed at concerts and festivals throughout the Midwest. Some of their recordings have recently been released on Joe’s “YouTube” Channel.
In 2001, Joe answered the call to American patriotism and adopted a New York Fire House with his year-long “Let Freedom Sing” national solo tour, bringing FDNY Firefighters with him across America, and receiving critical acclaim nationally.
USO Entertainer ~ In 2004, Joe created a super-band; “The 101st Rock Division;” with former members of Cheap Trick, The Turtles, The Koko Taylor Band and Joshua Tree, performing on the frontlines of Iraq, and in Africa, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
