Ronan Donovan is a wildlife biologist, conservation photographer, and National Geographic Explorer whose work reveals the complex social lives of wolves, chimpanzees, and gorillas. Through immersive visual storytelling, he explores the deep connections shared across species while promoting conservation and the preservation of our shared habitat.
Originally trained as a wildlife biologist, Ronan transitioned into photography to bring greater awareness to the natural world and the challenges facing endangered species. He has spent months at a time embedded with wild wolf packs, chimpanzee communities, and mountain gorilla families, documenting their relationships, communication, and survival. His fieldwork has resulted in multiple National Geographic feature stories and acclaimed imagery recognized around the world.
Ronan’s work has also been featured in documentaries including Kingdom of the White Wolf (Disney+) and Planet Earth III (Amazon Prime). His first traveling exhibition, Wolves, is currently touring internationally.
