NORTH MIAMI, Fla. — June 16, 2026 — The Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon honoring local law enforcement on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Miami Shores Country Club, 10000 Biscayne Blvd.
The event will recognize North Miami's finest — honoring the North Miami Police Department's Officers of the Month and culminating in the presentation of the North Miami Police Officer of the Year, an honor recognizing a full year of outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the safety of our community.
Headlining the luncheon is featured keynote speaker Ron L. Book, President and CEO of Ronald L. Book, P.A., and one of Florida's most influential and respected voices in governmental affairs. Affectionately known as "Mr. Anything & Everything Government," Book brings nearly four decades of experience shaping public policy across the state — on issues ranging from economic development and affordable housing to transportation, healthcare, and the environment.
Book's connection to this community runs deep and personal. His lifelong commitment to public service began right here in North Miami, where as a teenager he organized his neighbors and petitioned the city council to bring lighting to local parks — the first chapter in a career that would make him a fixture in Florida's Capitol and a trusted advisor to leaders at every level of government. A longtime friend of the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce, Book founded his Tallahassee- and South Florida-based firm in 1987 and has since represented many of the state's top businesses, local governments, healthcare organizations, and nonprofit institutions.
At the luncheon, Book will deliver his signature "State of the State" address, drawing on his unmatched insight into Tallahassee to break down recent legislation and what it means for the local business community — followed by an interactive dialogue with attendees.
The gathering also brings together business leaders, elected officials, and Chamber members for networking and conversation. Founded on January 22, 1947, the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce is approaching its milestone 80th anniversary in January 2027 and continues to champion the businesses and people that power one of South Florida's most vibrant communities.
