The Turner-Fischer Center for Opera brings to the stage one of the world's most famous love stories in Charles Gounod's exquisite and lyrically lush opera Roméo et Juliette, a timeless cornerstone of French Romanticism. Based on Shakespeare's renowned play, we follow the tale of the star-crossed lovers as they pursue an intense, passionate romance despite the bitter feud of their two rival families. Enter into the city of Verona via the stage of the globe theatre and experience this celebration of elegance, graceful vocal delivery, and lyrical beauty.
This opera will be sung in French with English supertitles.
