Verona Academy, a prestigious Boarding School in present day Massachusetts, is a beautiful, sprawling institution that boasts students who are college-bound, career-driven, and highly centered. High-power families seek out this haven from the complicated politics, violence, and dangers of social media in the “real” world. With a long history of conflict, the Capulet and Montague children feel the strain even in the four walls of a school far from home. In collaboration with The Liv Project, this adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet will show how our modern-day obsession with social media can unravel the mental health of young people, causing conflict that ends in tragedy.
