Join our resident history enthusiast for an immersive story time and leathercraft session, all about the history of Romans on the Fylde Coast

The year is 125 AD.

The Emperor is Hadrian has been on the throne for 7 years and he last visited 3 years ago to check the nearby fortifications and wall.

We are living in Roman Britain on the west side of the Pennines, on a crossroads of the trade routes using the roman roads and the rivers.

What is life like for the families living in Roman Fylde? Join us for an immersive story time session, followed by the opportunity to create a Roman sandal or small leather pouch.

When?

11am-12noon, 31 October 2025

How much is it?

£6 for a one child + one adult ticket.

Please note that there must be one adult per child attending for health and safety reasons

What age is this for?

This session is aimed at children aged 7-11 years old. If you have any queries regarding this please do send us a message.

What's included?

All craft materials are provided plus tea/ coffee and cold drinks

ACCESS

Important physical access info:

Please note that this session is upstairs. We are in the process of installing a lift, however due to unforeseen delays this is now due to be completed later in the year, but could change. The event space is up a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. You shouldn’t need to come downstairs for anything until the end of the activity.

If you can’t do the stairs and need to be on the ground floor, please let us know 10 days before the session and we will move the activity. You can

REFUNDS

• If you can no longer attend, please request a refund using the link in your confirmation email.
• Orders can be refunded up to 7 days before the event.
• Refunds will be subject to the Eventbrite booking fee of 6.95% + £0.59 per ticket

GETTING HERE

• Tram & Train to Blackpool North Station
• Bus: No 6 or 18 to Topping St., No 3, 3a, 5c, 6, 18 to Church St (Stanley Buildings), No 5, 5a, 5b, 6, 7a, 14 to Talbot Rd
• Driving: The closest pay and display car parks are on East Topping St and Talbot Road multi storey. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park.
