🏔️ The Grand Tour – Romania’s Ultimate Off-Road AdventureAn unforgettable 2-week off-grid camping experience covering approximately 720 km through rivers, mountain peaks, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. All our routes are united into one epic track, offering the ultimate off-road experience with all levels of difficulty: from easy and medium to hard terrain.

• A low-gear equipped 4x4 vehicle

• MT (mud terrain) tires recommended
• Winch & recovery accessories

• +5 cm suspension lift kit

Day 1 – 50 km off-road
We start from Vâlcea County (exact location will be shared in the WhatsApp group). We’ll climb into the “no man’s land” of the Căpățânii Mountains, visiting a stone monastery 🧱⛰️. After about 4 hours of easy to medium terrain, we set up camp.

Day 2 – 50 km off-road
We continue through the Căpățânii Mountains, reaching the highest peak at 2130 m. Then we descend to a stunning lake, perfect for stand-up paddle or boating. Camp overnight. (Easy track with medium portions)

Day 3 – 73 km asphalt + 40 km off-road
We head toward the Făgăraș Mountains, reaching an altitude of 2350 m with amazing views of Moldoveanu and Negoiu peaks. Camp near a sheepfold 🐑 and enjoy a traditional shepherd’s meal. (Easy track with hard portions)

Day 4 – 50 km off-road
From the sheepfold, we follow the ridge to a scenic mountain refuge between Sibiu and Vâlcea counties. Winch may be needed here. Overnight camp at the refuge (8 beds, cozy chat room). (Medium to hard terrain)

Day 5 – 50 km off-road + 20 km asphalt
Descending to the village, we begin the third track into the Călinești Mountains. Amazing panoramic views over the Făgăraș, Căpățânii, Parâng, and Cindrel peaks. Camp for the night. (Easy to medium)

Day 6 – 70 km off-road + 500 m asphalt
We ride the ridge, stop at a sheepfold for local delicacies, and continue onto the legendary Strategica route. Midway, we descend to Ciungetu village and stay overnight at a hotel with a delicious meal. (Easy to medium)

Day 7 – 20 km asphalt + 35 km off-road
We continue to a nearby lake, then face a challenging 500 m steep climb with tight forest roads and sharp turns — winch mandatory. We rejoin the Strategica route and camp at Belvedere Point. (Hard, medium, and easy sections)

Day 8 – 20 km asphalt + 40 km off-road
We explore the Șureanu Mountains ⛰️, with breathtaking views of the Great Parâng peaks. Two nights of camping and relaxation with a cozy firepit. (Easy to medium)

Day 10 – 60 km off-road
This technical day includes muddy ponds, inclined terrain, tight forest paths, sharp turns, and large rocks. Drivers must use skill and teamwork. Camp on a mountain ridge with a 4K natural view of the Parâng, Retezat, and Șureanu peaks. (Medium with challenging portions)

Day 11 – 50 km off-road + 35 km asphalt
We continue through the beautiful Romanian forests 🪵, ending with a rocky descent into Tău Bistra village. We then descend the Transalpina road to Obârșia Lotrului for a hotel stay with sauna and traditional hot tub. (Easy to medium)

Day 12 – 16 km asphalt + 41 km off-road
Our final day starts at the hotel and ends in Sibiu city, after a scenic last route. (Easy to medium)
