Roman Street!

If you've been to The Velvet Note for any length of time, you know I'm always searching for artists who bring something genuinely different to our stage. Roman Street is one of those rare groups. Brothers Noah and Josh Thompson have developed a sound that's impossible to fit into a single category—virtuosic acoustic guitar playing that blends jazz, Latin, classical, gypsy jazz, and world music into something completely their own. They've performed around the globe, earned international recognition, and yet somehow still play with the warmth and joy of musicians who simply love making music together. It's sophisticated enough to impress seasoned jazz listeners, but so melodic and accessible that even first-time guests find themselves smiling from the very first song.
One of the things I love most about Roman Street is that they create the kind of evening people remember long after the last note has faded. Their performances are elegant without ever feeling formal, technically brilliant without ever becoming self-indulgent, and filled with the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of making music together. If you're looking for a concert that's relaxing, uplifting, and just a little different from anything else you'll hear this season, I think you'll absolutely love this one. Seating at The Velvet Note is intentionally limited so every guest enjoys an intimate experience, and I have a feeling these seats won't last long.
