ROMAN CANDLE CHRISTMAS SPECIALWe are delighted to announce that this Christmas three of our favourite bands will be playing for us at the wonderful St Mary's Creative Space, Chester.
Joining us on Saturday, 21st, December will be The Lotts, Sweet Giant, and Broken Down Golf Cart.

SWEET GIANT
Much like the mycelium spreading unseen through the soil, Sweet Giant are a crew of assorted creatures who found themselves and each other in some of London’s coziest crevices. Brought together by a shared love of the wild side, Sweet Giant bursts forth from the underground, like a fruiting body emerging from the forest floor.
With spitting amplifiers and rattling drums, buzzing oscillators and runaway echo, Sweet Giant are putting the weird and the wonderful back into rock and roll.
The band fully embrace a DIY ethos; writing, recording, producing and creating artwork from their hand-built London studio - lovingly dubbed 'Big Vision Studios'.
THE LOTTS

Formed in 2018, in Warrington. The Lotts are Garage Rock. Their ferocious live set encapsulates everything that The Lotts stand for. Do it fast, do it loud.
BROKEN DOWN GOLF CART
Broken Down Golf Cart is the musical project of Canadian born Merseyside based musician, animator and visual artist, Jen Baranick. With Jen on guitar and vocals, Amanda Scheibert on drums and vocals, Liam Crosbie on bass and Tayler Little on lead guitar, the vibe comes together and out as “bitter sweet spacey grunge”. Despite the often playful nature of the visuals and lyrics, the songs carry reflective weight in their content. Touching on contemporary issues such as social anxiety, corrupt world leaders and the plight of the environment, the music has wit, charm, insight and empathy alongside fuzzy weird love and gorgeous melodies.
Broken Down Golf Cart has been played on BBC6 and the local BBC Merseyside radio show (recently considered a 2022 highlight on the show) as well as received coverage from various blogs including Louder Than War, Stereogum, the VPME, Grotesquelizer, Bido Lito (the Liverpool local arts magazine), and We All Want Someone To Shout For. Also added to BIRP’s Best of 2021 playlist and to the Spotify New Rock playlist, and others - the band has reached listeners in the UK and beyond.
With grunge and psych influences and lyrics to make you think, Broken Down Golf Cart is what it sounds like, dark but danceable and broken-hearted yet charming.
