Join us at the Pensacola Equestrian Center on August 15th for an exciting and unique opportunity! Get behind-the-scenes, up-close-and-personal access to rodeo's two most exciting events, Bull Riding & Barrel Racing! Guaranteed 2+ hours of instructional and shooting time with professionals from Gulf Coast Camera, and unique tips and tricks for all things rodeo photography from Bar South Photography.

Ticket includes access to bull riding without an audience and instruction for rodeo photography in the morning and one (1) wristband ticket to the Bull Riding Performance later that evening. (You will not be allowed to shoot at the performance, only during workshop hours.)

What We Will Go Over:

• Basic camera settings for sharp, clear action shots
• Ideal Positioning to minimize challenging lighting
• Improving your timing for the ideal shot
• Cull or Keep? What do the contestants want?
• What is the unspoken taboo in rodeo photography?
• How to gain access to more events the right way

Your Unique Access:

-Behind the chutes, on top of the bucking chutes, wherever you want to shoot from!

-Shoot from the arena floor for the barrel racing portion, shoot from each barrel

Recommended Experience & Equipment:

-Due to the nature of the lighting and fast action, this workshop will benefit those with a mirrorless camera or a newer DSLR, and who are comfortable shooting on manual.
-Highly recommend a monopod
-Ideal lens: 70-200mm f2.8, longer primes with lower f-stops
-If you don't have any of the above, ask GCC about renting!

Dress:
-Closed-toed shoes are mandatory; tennis shoes preferred.
-Comfortable clothes for being outside in a covered arena
-It will be hot, so please make sure you stay hydrated!
