Join puzzlers from across Colorado and beyond as we race against the clock in four exciting competition formats:
🏆 Solo Speed Puzzle – 500-piece challenge
👫 Pairs Speed Puzzle – 500-piece challenge
🔁 Pairs Relay – teamwork with two different 300-piece puzzles
👥 Team Speed Puzzle – 1000-piece challenge
Just like every sport at the Rocky Mountain State Games, competitors will have the chance to stand on the podium and earn Gold, Silver, and Bronze Olympic-style medals!
Whether you're a seasoned speed puzzler or just love a good challenge, this event is all about community, teamwork, and the thrill of the solve.
Hosted by Mind Quest Puzzles and Games in partnership with The Sports Corp, this event brings the puzzle community into one of Colorado’s largest multi-sport festivals.

Rocky Mountain State Games – Puzzle Race
Get ready for an exciting speed puzzling competition at the Rocky Mountain State Games! Competitors will race against the clock to complete puzzles as quickly as possible in a variety of formats. Whether you're competing solo or with teammates, this event is all about strategy, teamwork, and puzzle-solving speed.
Participants can compete in multiple divisions throughout the day, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded to the top finishers in each event.
Event Divisions
🏆 Solo Speed Puzzle
Individual competitors race to complete a 500-piece puzzle as quickly as possible.
👫 Pairs Speed Puzzle
Teams of two work together to complete a 500-piece puzzle in a fast-paced competition.
🔁 Pairs Relay Puzzle
Two teammates take turns completing two different 300-piece puzzles, switching off relay-style to finish both puzzles within the time limit.
👥 Team Speed Puzzle
Teams collaborate to complete a 1000-piece puzzle, combining teamwork, communication, and speed to claim victory.
