Every Tuesday Night at Katoomba, the dance floor comes alive with the timeless charm of rock'n'roll. Led by Australia’s most seasoned instructors, these classes are not just about steps; they’re about unleashing your inner dancer and connecting with the music and other dancers in a whole new way. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a regular on the social dance floor, come join us for a night of laughter, learning, and plenty of fancy footwork.

Feeling a bit hesitant to hit the dance floor? Think your feet have a mind of their own? Fear not - get ready to groove and leave your inhibitions behind! Join the Sydney Swing Katz for an exciting dance class guaranteed to fill your days with fun and rhythm! In our beginner-friendly course, you'll master the fundamental steps of rock'n'roll with ease, all while building the confidence to shine on the social floor. So, ditch the nerves, dress comfortably, and leave your worries at the door - no partner required, just your willingness to dance your heart out! ... It's recommended that beginners start in the first 3 weeks (14 Oct; 21 Oct or 28 October) or wait until the next beginners block to start in 2026.
/ 7:30 PM; INTERMEDIATE ROCK'N'ROLL /
Ready to take your dance skills to the next level? Join our intermediate-level rock'n'roll class for a fun journey through more advanced moves, refined technique, and stylish flair! We recommend completing our beginners course as a prerequisite as you'll dive deep into the art of leading and following with a partner, more complex moves and combos, mastering intricate footwork variations, and adding your own personal touch to every step, all an extension of our beginners course. Get ready to expand your dance repertoire, unleash your creativity, and have a blast learning some seriously cool moves!

$18 for single class per person. Or purchase a 4 class pass for $60 per person. Buy online at sydneyswingkatz.com.au or purchase at the door (cash & card accepted).

There is a Blue Mountains City Council Car Park only 50m walk from the venue on Katoomba St.

/ FAQ /
1. When can I start?
If you're a beginner, we have new beginner blocks starting every 6-8 weeks at all our locations. If you've danced before, our intermediate classes run year round and don't follow specific blocks - just drop on in and give it a go.
2. What do I wear?
That's easy - flat shoes and comfortable clothing. Whilst some dancers love to get all dressed up, others just wear what makes them happy. A dance class is sometimes like a little workout, so many dancers dress accordingly, but if you want to get all dolled up - you won't be the one ones 😁.
3. Do I need a partner?
Come alone, bring a friend or invite a whole group. We encourage rotating partners in our classes, both to improve your skills and so you can meet some new friendly faces you'll see on the social dance floor. Both teachers and performance troupe members will step in too, so it's a good opportunity to learn from some of the best dancers in Australia.
4. Do we have to swap partners?
Whilst we encourage everyone to swap partners during class, as it's the best way to learn, you're more than welcome to stay together for the whole class. We want to make sure everyone feels comfortable when learning to dance.
5. Do I need to book?
We recommend booking online, but if you'd prefer to drop in and pay on the day, that's cool too! Both cash and card will be accepted.
