Rockford's Cinco de Mayo Block Party

It's that time of year again -- 4th annual and counting!

Courtland Street shuts down for a full day of tacos, live music, miniature donkeys, kids activities, local art, and all the community energy that makes this one of the most anticipated events of the year in Rockford.

Here's what's happening in 2026:

FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITES —

KIDS ZONE: Brand new this year! Modern Woodmen is generously allowing us use of their lawn to create a dedicated kids zone with rotating activities all day including:

Pottery Painting with Accidental Art from 11-1, The Tipsy Burro miniature donkeys will be here from 2-4, and Jim Perry (The Balloon Guy) will be here from 2:30-4:30.

We'll also have Sunshine Face Painting and Diva Productions Events Photobooth on the block all day.

LIVE MARIACHI: Local mariachi singer, Gabriel Estrada III ("El Charro Del Norte"), performs from 11-2 in front of F'n K Tacos.

LIVE RADIO BROADCAST: La Poderosa Radio returns for a live broadcast bringing regional Mexican music and Hispanic culture to the block from 1-3.

FOOD & DRINKS — F'n K Tacos is the main event, but of course we're not the only option. Cinco de Mayo, Grill 111, Boochie Bar, Quickwater Coffee, and the Rockford Lions Club are also joining the fun!

THE WHOLE TOWN GETS FESTIVE — Walk the block, explore downtown, discover what this community is all about.

New this year: The Rogue River Artists Association is hosting an art show at the Rotary Pavilion. We're encouraging the flow of the event to connect both spaces — explore the block, then explore downtown.

This is a free event. Most activities are free. That's intentional — local sponsors make it possible so anyone can come, bring their family, and have an incredible day.
