Join us for Rock the Block, a free, family-friendly block party hosted by the Independence Public Library in celebration of Banned Books Week and our shared commitment to the freedom to read!
This inclusive evening brings together neighbors, families, and local organizations for a joyful night of fun, learning, and connection.
🌟 Event Highlights:
• A vibrant Community Fair with 25+ local organizations invited to share resources, ideas, and ways to get involved
• A magical outdoor screening of James and the Giant Peach, a once-challenged classic, now a nostalgic millennial classic movie that celebrates imagination and curiosity
• Touch-A-Truck – let the kids explore larger-than-life trucks, construction vehicles, and more!
• Youth activities to engage and inspire young minds
• Delicious eats from Big Time Munchies, a food truck 🍔
• A lively yard games for the grown-ups
