Coming to The Hill Arts in Portland, Maine - Two nationally touring artists join forces to create a special rocking blues show: Billboard chart topping artist The Alex Lopez Xpress(ALX) AND Sweetone recording artist Memphis Lightning. Sunday Oct 20th starting at 7PM.It's called the Lightning Xpress tour:Two bands, one stage, one electrifying concert experience...wowing audiences everywhere. With each band performing an individual set and then seamlessly coming together to perform a set of classic rock/blues songs. The Lightning Xpress tour is the union of two talented rock/blues artists that has been selling out shows bringing high-energy and great music to venues across the country.
Meet the bands:
Alex Lopez and The Xpress(ALX): Renowned guitarist and songwriter Alex Lopez, with his band The Xpress, electrifies audiences with a blend of blues, rock, pop, and funk. Known for revitalizing blues for new generations, they mesmerize with melodic songs from Alex's seven acclaimed albums, including their just released Billboard top ten "Looking for a Change." Expect a high-energy mix of new hits and blues rock classics in their unforgettable performance.
Memphis Lightning: Dynamic and internationally touring, Memphis Lightning features award-winning musicians, including guitar virtuoso Lightning Thiboutot who wows audiences with his guitar fretwork equivalent to guitar pyrotechnics. The band, which includes Grammy-nominated Big Red and members "The Rock" and "Mr. Mayhem," is celebrated for their fusion of styles reminiscent of Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, David Bowie, and Mick Jagger. Memphis Lightning is synonymous with future legends, delivering a compelling musical experience.
The Hill Arts or St. Lawrence Arts Center is a performing arts center and community space at 76 Congress Street in the Munjoy Hill district of Portland, Maine. It is located in the former parish hall of the former St. Lawrence Church, a historic Romanesque church that was built in 1897. The center's facilities currently includes a 110-seat theater with state-of-the art equipment. And they are getting ready to build a breathtaking new 400 seat theater complex that will provide perfect spaces for our more than twenty creative partners, neighborhood folks, national touring shows and acts, and a lot more.
