Every October, the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee supports the City of Rochester’s Genesee River-focused festival. Roc the Riverway is an annual autumn weekend chock full of family-friendly activities and events that inform and inspire through up-close experiences with the mighty Genesee. Many of the offerings are free. Because the Genesee completes its legendary course at Lake Ontario in Ontario Beach Park, no Roc the Riverway Weekend is complete without events and activities at the lakeshore!
This year’s Roc the Riverway Weekend is Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6! Dozens of events await, including the Autumn at the Lake set of activities at Ontario Beach Park and the Port of Rochester on Sunday, October 6 (12:00 – 3:00 p.m.).

Autumn at the Lake on Sunday October 6 features:
* Kids entertainment with The Happy Pirates 12pm-2pm (free)
* Carousel Rides 12pm-5pm ($1.00)
* Pumpkin Decorating 12pm until gone (small fee)
*Donuts, cider and other treats 12pm-3pm (fee)
* Face painting and balloon art 12pm-3pm (free)
* Live local music 12-3 (free)
*Guided history walking tour including the 200-year-old lighthouse, 1-2 pm
Join us at the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse, 70 Lighthouse St., for a walking tour of historic Charlotte. From the Lighthouse, we will make our way along the Genesee River and south to the Charlotte Cemetery, resting place of ship captains, soldiers, and early settlers of Charlotte. Walk is approximately 1.5 miles. Rain or shine. For more information, call 285-1747.
* Tours of the Charlotte-Genesee Lighhouse 1pm-5pm (Adults $5, age 5-17 $2, 4 and under, free)
