Rogues' Gallery Comedy Club are proud to present an evening of stories, poetry and music.Creative polymath (author/broadcaster/comedian/poet) Robin Ince is bringing his new show The Universe and The Neurodiverse to Wales, now with added live music and songs from singer-songwriter Rachel Taylor-Beales.
What if being a bit weird is actually entirely normal? What if sharing our internal struggles wasn’t a sign of weakness, but strength?
For over thirty years, award-winning broadcaster and comedian Robin Ince has entertained thousands in person and on air. But underneath the surface, a whirlwind was at play – a struggle with sadness, concentration, self-doubt and near-constant anxiety. But then he discovered he had all the hallmarks of ADHD and his stumbling blocks became stepping stones.
Robin Ince is best known as the co- presenter of the multi award winning Radio 4 science show The Infinite Monkey Cage. He recently wrote and presented Writing the Universe and a 4 part solo stand up series Reality Tunnel. He has performed across the world from Reyjavik to Dunedin, LA to Sophia and won many awards for his shows including Time Out’s outstanding achievement in comedy award.
His books include I’m a Joke and So Are You, Bibliomaniac, The importance of Being interested - in 2022 he won The Author of the Year from the Bookseller Association. His next book is about neurodivergence - Normally Weird…Weirdly Normal followed by his first collection of poetry Ice Cream for a Broken Tooth.
Rachel Taylor-Beales is singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music sits at the crossroads of Americana, alt-folk, blues, and jazz. Described by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris as ‘highly recommended’, Rachel’s unique brand of beautiful melancholy, draws inspiration from folklore alongside her own life, often advocating for issues of social justice, and ecology.
Her latest album, Out Of This Frame was nominated as a best of 2022 album by Folk Radio UK. Alongside music Rachel can also be found painting, writing and theatre-making. Her latest play Bag For Life has recently been optioned for production by Swansea’s Fluellen Theatre company.
