No 7. līdz 29. novembrim Kalnciema kvartāla galerijā būs skatāma izcilā mākslinieka Roberta Koļcova personālizstāde "Pieguļnieka pieraksti"! Tajā varēs aplūkot Koļcova radītos skulpturālos darbus, grafikas, gleznojumus un porcelāna apdruku. Izstādes atklāšana norisināsies 6. novembrī plkst. 18.00. PAR IZSTĀDI
Zirgs ir klātesošs tēls pasaules apziņā. Tas dziļi sakņojas cilvēka pasaules izpratnē, garīgā un mītiskā ziņā darbojas kā vēstnesis starp pasaulēm, savieno zemi ar dievišķo, stiprina cilvēka garu, kad tas ceļo, un palīdz pārvarēt grūtības.
Tādēļ Roberts Koļcovs veltījis izstādi un jauno 2026. gada kalendāru zirgam – dievu vēstnesim. Nosaukums akcentē senu tradīciju – pieguļu, kopīgu zirgu ganīšanu naktī. Zirgs nav alnis – savvaļnieks un vienpatis – ko senāk cilvēks pakļāva Skandināvijas ziemeļos, bet spožs kopības piemērs, kas ievijas dievišķajā un cilvēku sabiedrībā. Senajiem grieķiem zirgs simbolizēja vienu no varenākajiem dabas spēkiem, ko spēj pārvaldīt cilvēks, viduslaikos tas pārstāvēja dižciltību, varu un bruņnieciskumu. Zirgs ir silta, labvēlīga klātbūtne, bet vienlaikus – stihija. Tā spēks ir jaudas mērvienība. Kučieris vada zirgu pajūgu – iejūgts zirgs metaforiski ataino laipnu, labsirdīgu cilvēku, kas ir disciplinēts garīgā ceļa meklējumos. Zirgu pasts nogādā ziņas no sūtītāja saņēmējam – no rokas rokā, pārvarot šķēršļus, briesmas un maldus.

Izstāde Kalnciema kvartāla galerijā būs atvērta bez maksas katru darba dienu plkst. 10.00-18.00 un sestdienās plkst. 10.00-16.00, svētdienās galerija slēgta.

From November 7 to 29, the Kalnciema Quarter Gallery will host an exhibition by the distinguished artist Roberts Koļcovs, titled “Notes of the Night Herder.”
The exhibition will feature Koļcovs’ sculptural works, graphic art, paintings, and porcelain prints. The opening will take place on November 6 at 6:00 PM.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The horse is a constant figure in the consciousness of the world. It is deeply rooted in humanity’s understanding of existence, serving both spiritually and mythologically as a messenger between worlds, connecting the earthly with the divine, strengthening the human spirit on its journey, and helping to overcome hardships.
For this reason, Roberts Koļcovs has dedicated the exhibition and his new 2026 calendar to the horse, the messenger of the gods.
The title refers to an ancient tradition, pieguļa, the communal night herding of horses.
The horse is not like the elk, a solitary wild creature once subdued by humans in the northern regions of Scandinavia, but rather a shining example of unity, woven into both divine and human societies.
For the ancient Greeks, the horse symbolized one of nature’s most powerful forces under human control. In the Middle Ages, it represented nobility, power, and chivalry.
The horse embodies warmth and benevolence, yet also elemental energy. Its strength is literally a measure of power. The coachman guiding a horse-drawn carriage reflects, metaphorically, a kind and good-natured person who is disciplined on the path of spiritual pursuit. The postal horse carried messages from sender to recipient, from hand to hand, overcoming obstacles, dangers, and illusions along the way.

The exhibition at the Kalnciema Quarter Gallery is free of charge and open Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and
Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The gallery is closed on Sundays.
