¡Globalquerque!, The Children's Hour and Southwest Roots Music present a fundraiser for The Children's Hour featuring two-time Grammy winner and New Mexico's own Robert Mirabal and Rare Tribal Mob Trio along with Québecois trad music innovator Mélisande and her trio! It's all happening at the historic Old San Ysidro Church in Corrales on March 13. 7 PM.Robert Mirabal is certainly no stranger to New Mexico or ¡Globalquerque! audiences. What you may not know is he and his band are in the studio working on brand new music, to be released later this year. His trio might even do a rendition of one of the new tracks!
Mélisande is one of the few strong female forces on the Québécois traditional music scene and, along with her trio, brings a fresh perspective to Québecois traditional music. To quote Pop Matters "“If this is the future of folk, we’re in good hands.”
There will be food trucks and libations, too!
