🎨 Robert Henri Master Copy Workshop
Join us at the Dayton Society of Artists for a hands-on master copy workshop exploring the work of Robert Henri, one of the leading figures of the Ashcan School and a champion of artistic individuality in early 20th-century American art.
Led by special guest instructor Terri Hamlin and DSA Historian Kathleen Caffrey, this guided session will focus on a selected Robert Henri painting. Participants will work from a reproduction of the artwork while examining composition, value, color, and brushwork. Known for his expressive portraits and belief that art should reflect life and personality, Henri's work offers a rich opportunity for study and artistic growth.
Throughout the workshop, Terri Hamlin will guide participants through the artistic process, offering insight into the technical and creative decisions that make the work successful. Kathleen Caffrey will share historical context about Henri, his influence on American art, and the significance of the selected painting, adding another layer of understanding to the experience.
Whether you're looking to strengthen your technical skills, learn more about American art history, or spend time studying a masterwork, this workshop offers a focused and welcoming environment to learn and create.
