Hi, my name is Lia and I’ll be the DJ for the dance. I’d like to share a bit about what you can expect at this dance as they can vary since every DJ/facilitator has their own flavor.
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement experience where there are no steps to learn and no way to do it wrong. Using music as a guide, participants are invited to move in whatever way feels natural and authentic, creating space for self-expression, creativity, stress relief, and fun. Whether you dance energetically, move gently, or simply take in the experience, you are welcome exactly as you are. Our space is conversation-free on the dance floor and designed to support freedom of movement, personal expression, and a sense of community. No dance experience is necessary—just come as you are and enjoy the journey.
My set will be about 75 minutes long.
A few simple guidelines help us set a safe space for ecstatic dance:
* Focus on inner awareness of your own self and body
* Leave phones/cameras and conversation off the dance floor
* Please avoid wearing non-natural scents
* Bare feet (unless shoes are needed for support)
The dance is held every other Friday night at Star City School of Ballet from 6:00-8:00.
