The Five Rhythms of Ecstatic Dance, developed by Gabrielle Roth, are: Flow, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. We will move through several waves of the Five Rhythms, feeling into and discovering the depths of intelligence held within our bodies and their capacities for expressive movement. We practice our dance in a judgement-free zone, a space and time designed to empower us in our creative expression of dance.Charlotte Tara has been facilitating ecstatic dance in Roanoke since 2019. Her ecstatic dances are appropriate for individuals 16 and older, as the group may be encouraged to gently explore emotional states and/or fairly complex ideas connected to the Five Rhythms. Also, sometimes the music has bad words.
