About this Event

Roadside Gardening - from Neglected Strip to Mini Oasis

Looking for more garden space? Want to support the pollinators and beautify your own town or city streets?

Join us for ideas and inspiration on creating a low-maintenance garden in the bump-out (curb extension) or planting strip in front of your home. These spaces are city-owned, with guidelines that vary depending on where you live.

Melinda Dennis, Watertown Community Board member and recent MMGA graduate, will share lessons from her fourth year gardening in a bump-out—including prepping the area, plant choices, successes, mistakes, and city guidelines. She’ll be joined by fellow Watertown Community Gardens member, Marilyn Salvas.
