Riverside Park Time Trial

The Riverside Park Time Trial, hosted by the Groesbeck Sports Car Club, transforms one of Texas’ most scenic public parks into a closed-course motorsport venue for a full weekend of cars, competition, and community. Set against the winding roads and shaded canopy of Riverside Park, the event offers something rare: real performance driving in a setting that feels more like a back road than a racetrack.
Saturday afternoon and evening will serve as the official kickoff, featuring a car show with the competing race cars on display. Drivers, spectators, families, and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the cars up close, meet the drivers, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere before competition begins. Drivers will also take part in the official driver’s meeting and course walk, giving them the opportunity to study the route, review procedures, and prepare for Sunday’s timed runs.
On Sunday, the focus shifts to competition.
At its core, the Riverside Park Time Trial is a 1.45-mile closed-course challenge where drivers compete against the clock, not each other. No wheel-to-wheel racing, no unnecessary theatrics, just precision driving, clean lines, and the joy of speed. Expect a diverse field, from vintage machines to modern performance cars, all taking on a technical course that rewards skill over horsepower.
For drivers, the event is a focused, no-nonsense format built around safety, preparation, and meaningful seat time.
For spectators, it is a front-row seat to real motorsport in an unexpected place, with the added bonus of seeing the cars up close before they run.
All drivers and spectators must register in advance and complete the required event waiver before attending. Proof of completed waiver must be brought to the event and shown at check-in before entry will be allowed. Anyone without proof of a completed waiver may be denied entry.
Because this is an active motorsport event, all attendees must remain in approved areas, follow posted signs, and obey instructions from event staff, safety workers, and volunteers at all times. Access to certain areas may be restricted for safety. Failure to follow event rules may result in removal from the event grounds.
Please arrive prepared with your waiver confirmation, appropriate footwear, sun protection, and anything needed for a day outdoors. This is a motorsport event held in a public park setting, and conditions may vary throughout the weekend.
Whether you are behind the wheel or watching from the sidelines, the Riverside Park Time Trial is a reminder that the best days with cars do not happen standing still.
