Riverside Park Mini-Pitch Ribbon Cutting
The ribbon cutting will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the new mini-pitch located at 3300 5th Avenue, Moline.
The opening of the mini-pitch marks the culmination of the Riverside Legacy Project, a multi-year initiative that began in 2021 to enhance recreation opportunities and improve infrastructure throughout the Riverside Park area.
Over the past five years, the project has transformed one of Moline's most heavily used parks through a variety of improvements, including:
• Installation of eight pickleball courts
• Renovation of Riverside Riverslide
• Construction of a new shared park shelter
• Additional parking lots to accommodate Riverside Riverslide, the pickleball courts and Moline Little League
• Asphalt overlay of Riverside Cemetery roads and the parking lot east of the pool
• Construction of a new playground at Moline Little League
• Installation of the new Musco Mini-Pitch Court
The new mini-pitch provides a dedicated space for soccer players of all ages and skill levels to practice, play and connect with others in the community. The project was made possible through a $50,000 T-Mobile Hometown Grant and a $10,000 grant from Musco Sports Lighting, both awarded to the City of Moline Parks and Recreation Department in 2025.
Community members are encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting and help celebrate the completion of this transformative project.
