This year North County Land Trust will partner with the city of Fitchburg and Nashua River Watershed Association to clean up Riverfront Park and clean up the overgrowth outside the park blocking the view to the River. We are lucky to have municipal partners to work with to conserve land, clean up our environment, and bring people together to care for our Earth.Join us to care for this place we call home!
We will provide trash bags and have some grabbers and gloves to use, feel free to bring your own gear if you’d prefer!
Register for the cleanup with NCLT so they know how many supplies to bring: https://northcountylandtrust.org/events/earthdayfitchburg/
We will gather at Riverfront Park to clear invasives and clean up trash from 9:00am-12:00pm and hope all will stick around to join in for the city of Fitchburg’s Earth Day Celebration beginning at 12pm.
The celebration event is free and will have vendors, organizations to meet, and activities.
Invasive Cleanup:
We will be cutting and pulling invasive plants to improve the riverbank ecosystem along the North Nashua River. We will provide some tools and work gloves, but please bring loppers, pruning shears, work gloves, sunscreen, water, and a hat, if possible.
This portion of the event is hosted by the Nashua River Watershed Association, with support from the US Department of Agriculture, and in conjunction with the City of Fitchburg's Earth Day Celebration. Additional Celebration events will continue at the Park following our invasive-plant removal, so please plan to stick around and enjoy the Park!
Thank you to Republic Services for supporting our event as well <3
