River Wildlife Walk at Victoria Embankment

Nottingham’s Wildlife Walks are a series of walk-and-talk events hosted by the Greenspace and Natural Environment team at Nottingham City Council. These walks showcase the city’s beautiful parks, riversides, and green spaces, while offering a chance to socialise with like-minded people, enjoy gentle exercise, discover new places, and immerse yourself in Nottingham’s urban wildlife.

Wildlife Walks are always free to attend. If there’s an independent café nearby, we encourage you to show your support.

Join us this time for a relaxing stroll around the scenic Victoria Embankment and along the banks of the River Trent—one of the city’s most picturesque riverside settings. This in-person event is perfect for nature lovers looking to unwind, spot local wildlife, and enjoy the calming presence of the river right in the heart of Nottingham.

As we walk, we’ll explore riverside habitats, keep an eye out for birds, insects, and plant life, and learn more about the natural and historical significance of this much-loved green space.

The Embankment is largely accessible, with wide, flat paths, though some grassy areas may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather—so sturdy footwear is recommended.
