Trance Dance takes participants on an "inner journey" not limited to our normal perceptions of space/time.Trance Dance brings together the richness of shamanism
with some startlingly effective modern techniques.

Ritual Trance Dance is a Neo-Shamanic Practice [ neo meaning new/ contemporary] .
Perth is the only state in Australia offering this modality with a trained facilitator [ 14 years experience after training in Germany]
It is a contemporary dance / movement ritual created by Frank Natale in the 1980’s.
The blindfold offers a tool that often invites visionary states or space in our over stimulated worlds to make contact with our inner knowing our inner wisdom.
It may be a dance and it may not as dancers often report their body/ spirit invites them to sit , lie, stretch , rest or move in ways that are foreign or new to them.
The gift of the blindfold allows you to be authentic in your expression without filtering or judgement.
It is a powerful practice for those who have felt unsafe or self conscious to dance in a group or in public.
It allows sensuality to be experienced , felt and expressed safely and other expressions we often filter or hide.
Though everyone is blindfolded experiencing an inner journey we collectively journey as a group into the unknown.
Enhancers are there to keep you safe from contact or injury and to expand the field with drum and rattles.
The elements of Ritual Trance Dance link us to shamanic practices from many ancient cultures and time lines. Darkness, breath , sound, movement , intention, integration.
Trance Dance is a dance like no other movement journey.
After Trance Dancing for several years in Melbourne Sohalia went to Germany to train with Wilbert Alix. Sohalia has been offering Ritual Trance Dance for 9 years in Perth. Ritual Trance Dance is part of the Sisterhood Rising Festival , the Fearless Women’s Gathering and she offers longer workshops in Collaboration with other amazing Perth based facilitators.
As you are wearing a blindfold throughout the dance spaces are limited to accommodate the venue and knowing numbers to have the right number of enhancers is paramount. This creates some restriction in that BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL for this event.
