Event description:
This unique event will begin at sunset on Saturday, January 31st, in honour of Imbolc, the turning of the seasonal wheel from Winter towards Spring. Join us for this year’s collaboration of two of the most evocative acts in the region’s history of original world folk music, along with special guests the nationally touring group Nemeton, and the visual artistry of some of the city’s most creative light and projection artists. The Reliquary of Urban Artifact will hum and shake to the ecstatic rhythms and haunting melodies of Mayan Ruins (Ecstatic Psychedelic Tribal), Nemeton (Eclectic Celtic pipes, drums, and more), and Hexxen (Nordic Diaspora Folk Fusion), while its vaulted ceiling is painted with light and imagery by Kosmik Ray joined by BB Hutch and Nightpain of Fig 8, immersing the listener in realms of entrancing mythos and ritual.
