The Riverview Family of Schools is currently made up of Baysgarth Secondary School, Castledyke Primary School, Headway Alternative Provision, the Get Ahead Partnership, the Baysgarth Sports Village and the Riverview Institute for Teacher Education (RITE).

As the only TeachFirst accredited SCITT programme in the region, RITE offers the highest-quality teacher training, mentoring from skilled and experienced leaders and vast opportunities for professional development for each and every trainee.

With a 100% retention rate and 75% of trainees going on to secure a leadership position in our schools after qualifying, we are confident that we can offer the best possible start for anyone looking to launch their career as a teacher.

We offer pathways into teaching at a secondary level in a variety of subjects - Science (all three areas), Maths, English, MFL (French and German), History, Geography, Business and PE. We ask all attendees complete a short expression of interest form prior to the event.

Join us to chat with Course Leads, meet some current ECTs and trainees to get their perspective, have a tour of the school, and have an opportunity to ask lots of questions!
