Rita Monahan, a former nursing faculty member at OHSU, was a dedicated educator who inspired her students to excel. In 1999, she lost her battle with colon cancer. Before her passing, she selflessly requested that donations be made toward a scholarship to assist graduate students in covering the cost of their RN licensure exam. This led to the creation of the Rita Monahan Scholarship, an endowed fund through the Eastern Oregon University Foundation.
Each year, the OHSU La Grande Student Senate hosts an event to support this scholarship. We invite you to join us in honoring Rita’s legacy and working toward her vision of ensuring every OHSU La Grande graduate receives the support they need.
