Rise Up Film Screening

Every social progress had to be struggled for by courageous people - but how did they succeed? "Rise up" seeks to answer this by going back to the beginning and tracing the point at which people begin to to dare and resist. Driven by questions, doubts and visions, the film follows the lives of 5 extraordinary political heroines navigating us through wild imagery, freezes in the face of overpowering enemies, lives through resistance, failure and new beginnings.

In Teasel we seek to create spaces for those in our queer community to discuss how they relate to climate activism. Together we want to explore different solutions and approaches to change to inspire collective action. After the film we will have participatory discussions around climate action and activism.

Food: We will provide some snacks and hot drinks alongside the film but not a full meal.

Finding Ty Ni: Go through the blue gate at the end of Pearl Place and round to the right where there is a set of stairs, we are at the top of the stairs.
Accessibility: We will have English captions on for the film. The building is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible and involves one flight of stairs up to the building as well as a small set of internal stairs.
