Think you know Edinburgh? Think again! There’s more to our history than ghosts, “Gardy-loo” and Greyfriars Bobby!
About this Event

Venture deeper into the cobbled streets, courtyards and closes of Edinburgh’s Old Town with local actor and tour guide, Caroline Mathison, and discover a city shaped by challenge, community and creativity: where every stone has borne witness to centuries of social change. Hear some of the less often told stories of rebels, radicals, suffragists, abolitionists, activists, creatives, and pioneers of all kinds; and celebrate the individuals, movements and innovations that transformed lives.

Join us to walk, learn, and support the charity Freedom from Torture, a cause which continues this legacy of change through its work helping survivors of torture living in the UK to rebuild their lives.

Suitable for Edinburgh locals and visitors who would like to see the city from a different perspective.
