Ever wanted to know how the FA Cup Final is broadcast to your screen? Or why so many cameras are needed at an event like Glastonbury or Wimbledon? Or perhaps you want to know how you can have a career in Virtual Reality? Join us to find out more!
The Rise Academy Summer School offers young people the chance to get hands-on experience of working in media technology. and learn about all of the different steps that are needed to get great content onto your TV, tablet or phone, including:
- Building a TV studio and creating a TV show;
- Exploring an Outside Broadcast (OB) Truck;
- Creating eye catching graphics;
- Learning more about post production and getting hands-on editing video content;
- Finding out more about what virtual production is;
- Exploring cloud technology.

Who can attend & what's included
The Rise Academy Summer School is FREE to attend and we welcome all young people in school years 7 -13. We cannot cover travel/accommodation costs, however lunch and refreshments throughout the day are provided.
If you can't make this session, why not attend one of the other sessions?
How to register
Parents or care givers can register their child/children by clicking on the register button.
We will collect your contact details, plus some basic details about each young person attending. You can register more than one young person when booking - but please note, you HAVE to be in a position to give consent for each to attend.
All advance communications will be sent to each attendee's parent/care giver (please only include your email address when filling in the registration form) - we will never contact your child directly.
The small print
We take every young person's safety seriously - and we have safeguarding policies in place that can be accessed by contacting [email protected].
Please also note that photos and video footage may be taken throughout the Summer School. Permission for each attendee's image to be used is a requirement for all.

We are delighted to be able to offer these fantastic experiences completely free of charge.
