The California Central Coast Chapter, in collaboration with the Southern California Chapter, of The Wildlife Society will be hosting an in person workshop featuring riparian birds. Species experts will speak about survey methodology in riparian systems and the life history and identification of special-status riparian birds found in the central coast region. Emphasis will be placed on birding by ear and collection specimens. Emphasis will be placed on the natural history, identification (visual and audio), and status of least Bell's vireo, yellow warbler, willow flycatchers, and yellow-breasted chat.

This is a rigorous workshop. You may experience inclement weather, difficult terrain, long days/nights, limited facilities, and physical demands. Participants must agree to adhere to the Western Section of The Wildlife Society (WS TWS) Code of Ethics and Behavior found here during the entire Workshop/Event and, if any, online activities.
Due to the limited nature of this workshop, a maximum of 4 participants from a given organization will be permitted. Participants who do not follow these workshop requirements may be dropped from the class.
