Shane MauX
Ann Arbor-born, Brooklyn-forged, and now back home in Michigan, Shane MauX is a rapper, singer, and performer whose 20-year career has spanned rock stages, underground hip-hop, international party phenomena, and cult classic collaborations.
As frontman of Ann Arbor/NYC rock band Belikos (2004-2012), Shane played Virgin Mobile Free Fest, CMJ, Webster Hall, and Afro-Punk Festival, sharing stages with Ludacris, Mos Def, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, and Joan Jett. As one half of Brooklyn hip-hop duo Duk Duk Goose!, he released two mixtapes and carved out space in NYC’s underground scene. From 2011-2014, he hosted the Underground Rebel Bingo Club—a raucous international party phenomenon that packed venues from Manhattan to London, Ibiza to Beijing—bringing his natural command of a crowd to thousands of revelers.
Shane co-wrote and performed on “Labyrinth” (Miracle Musical’s Hawaii: Part II, 2012) alongside Joe Hawley (Tally Hall) and Charlene Kaye—a track that has amassed over 100 million streams and become a cult classic among devoted fans. With Knock The Vandal, Shane created the album Dreams of the Dead, a project that was never performed live until now.
After 17 years in New York and Los Angeles, Shane returned to Detroit in 2025, bringing his expansive musical history home. His forthcoming solo album The Death Of The Party confronts the performative persona he’s worn for decades—addressing childhood trauma, addiction, identity, and transformation over upbeat, danceable production. It’s an album about killing the mask and finding what’s underneath.
Shane MauX is a veteran performer who’s done the work, paid the dues, and is now making it personal.
