A LITTLE ABOUT RILEY:

Rising star and Texas native Riley Amanda has been writing incredibly crafted songs since childhood. While other teens were learning the broken and shallow text of social media, Riley was immersed in honeing lyrics to convey her unconventional viewpoint of a world she chooses, at times to be in, but not of.

Winning awards like the Woody Gutherie Festival Songwriting Contest at age 14 was more validation than surprise to anyone who's heard her. The fact that it was a competition for "children" is a slight to her talent which is, and has always been, well beyond her now 21 years.

Lyrically there are few who hold a candle to her wit, dark and nuanced charm or the effortless delivery of honest truth. Whether conjuring the smaller details of a broken heart or questioning the conflict found within her own choices, Amanda makes every word count. It's as if words matter and she wants you to understand this. To understand her. To understand yourself.

Musically, she makes choices that serve the song, be it a steady blues rhythm or delicate fingerpicking. She understands space and how to use it effectively. Whether to leave it linger or fill it with her soulful and aching alto. She can whisper a lyric so loudly that it's deafining and she can quiet a room with her heartfelt pleas. One can simply not ignore what she has to say.

Info: Midway through the Headliner's performance there will be a short 10 minute intermission to allow folks to use the restroom and stretch their legs. The music will end between 8:30 and 8:45 to allow attendees 15-30 minutes after the show to meet the artist, purchase merchandise, sign our email list and generally hang out.
