About this Event
Right Choice BC and BC Research Group - are pleased to announce that it is planning to hold a third Abbotsford Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 6pm until 9:00pm .
We have received an overwhelming tidal wave of support and feedback from the people of our community and the province of British Columbia in response to our first Abbotsford Town Hall Meeting held on Thursday, December 11, 2026 and the desire for more information and connecting with our community is growing.
This Abbotsford Town Hall Meeting is not a political event or a discussion about the current B.C. political landscape.
We hope you can join us in attending and participating in this important Right Choice B.C. - Abbotsford Town Hall Event being planned for the people of our community and the province of British Columbia.
The Future of Land Ownership in British Columbia
Property Rights, Agriculture, and Governance Frameworks
Across British Columbia, many people are asking an increasingly important question:
What is actually happening to property rights, agriculture, and regulatory authority in this province?
Recent court decisions, governance agreements, and regulatory actions have generated growing public interest in how land, farming, and public policy are evolving in British Columbia. While many of these developments are discussed individually in the media, they are rarely examined together.
To help provide greater clarity, Right Choice BC and the BC Research Group are hosting a public Town Hall bringing together researchers and subject-matter experts to examine how several governance systems affecting land, agriculture, and regulatory authority intersect.
For generations, land ownership in British Columbia has been built upon the Torrens land title system, where the individual whose name appears on the land title register is recognized as the legal owner of the property. That system continues to operate today.
At the same time, developments involving constitutional Aboriginal title, governance agreements, provincial legislation, and federal regulatory authority are introducing additional layers of governance that interact with the traditional property framework.
Understanding how these systems interact is becoming one of the most important public policy discussions in British Columbia, particularly for farmers, landowners, businesses, and rural communities.
This Town Hall will explore how these developments connect and why they matter for the future of land governance, agriculture, and community stability across the province.
