Celebrate Wellington's longest-awaited new bike route with us on opening day, Saturday 16 May.Route: Waterfront, stadium concourse to Thorndon Quay, Old Hutt Road to Ngauranga to join the new path, exiting at Honiara Reserve in Petone. Return via the same route.
BYO picnic - details TBD, either at the reserve or one of the Ūranga (stopping points) on the way back.
We'll ride at a steady pace, not too fast. For anyone who doesn't want to ride back, trains to WLG leave Petone station every half hour - but expect some waiting if lots of other folks have the same idea!
10:15am Meet under the sails at Queens Wharf on the waterfront
10:30am Ride start
11:30pm onwards: Check out the NZTA event at Pito-One, then picnic and return ride following the same route.
