Join the Pittsburgh Area Run and Ride Trail Association for an Introduction to Ride & Tie and Endurance clinic. All skill levels -- especially beginners -- are welcome!We'll go over information relevant to all distance riding (Ride & Tie, Equathon, Endurance, Competitive Trail) such as preparing for a ride, camping, recommended gear and tack, planning your training, and any other questions you might have. We'll have a mock vet check.
We will also cover some Ride & Tie specifics including basic strategy for planning your handoffs and tips for tying.
At the end, we’ll hit the trails together for a practice ride & tie or trail ride (optional). If you don’t have a horse or partner don’t worry, we’ll try to pair you up or else you can follow along on foot!
Location is Hillman State Park at the Old Model Airport Trailhead with parking for horse trailers and cars.
