About this Event

Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me... now.

You are invited to join us for a walk for peace within Larus Park— a gentle pilgrimage through nature, presence, and responsibility.

We will gather at main parking lot (8850 W Hugenot Rd). Look for the female in the orange shirt.

There is a dirt trail. It's about 2.6 miles miles.

This is a quiet walk.

Not to suppress thought — but to let the inner chatter soften.

To listen more deeply.

To tune into your breath, your body, the birds, the river, and your connection to the living world.

Before we begin, you are invited to turn off your phone — to set aside the hum of the world — and tune instead to the quieter currents within.

Let the mind settle.

Let the body lead.

Let the birds, the trees, and the ground beneath your feet become your teachers.

Silence gives space for the inner voice to be heard — the one that knows how to listen, how to belong, how to remember its place in the living web.

You are welcome to wear orange, if you wish, as a gesture of solidarity with the monks walking for peace whose presence and devotion inspired this gathering.

We walk not to fix the world from a distance,
but to take responsibility for our part in it
to carry peace in our nervous systems,
to let it move through our steps,
and to offer it back to the Earth and to one another.

Come as you are.
Walk with the Earth.
Listen for what is alive within you.
Let peace take root.

There is no cost. All are free to attend.
After the walk, those who wish to linger and get to know each other are invited to gather afterward at a nearby coffee shop.

NOTE: Parking is very limited. Here are your options:
Main Entrance (Huguenot Rd) There's a small lot at 8850 West Huguenot Road that fits about four cars. It's not a formal lot — just a pull-off so you don't block the back entrance to Fire Station #25. We will meet here.

Stony Point Road Entrance Park outside the gate of the Sabot at Stony Point school — there's a small lot at the park entrance plus additional street parking along the road. Note that the school has asked that hikers not park past the school entrance at the gate.

Old Holly Rd / Beechmont Rd Trailhead There's a smaller, lesser-known trailhead at Old Holly Road and Beechmont Road.
