Description: We will begin with some context about the history of the area - the controversies about the Papaschase Indian Reserve, Moravian and other farmers, the land bank, development concept, and the beginning of Mill Woods in 1970. We'll walk along 36 Ave to Grace Martin School, down the pipeline corridor to the Keegano Housing Co-op, and back along Richfield Road, past the Synergen Housing Co-op and the Markas-Ul-Islam Mosque.
Location: Leefield Community Hall (7910 36 Ave NW)
Accessibility: Start & finish are accessible by Bus and Bike. Free on-street parking is available. Route is all via City Sidewalks.
Catherine is writing a book about the history of Mill Woods, as well as a series of articles in the Mill Woods Mosaic (www.mwmosaic.ca), and is holding monthly gatherings in the Mill Woods Public Library, with the last two May 13 and June 10 from 1-4.
