Richard Thompson’s impact on music is unparalleled. A co-founder of Fairport Convention as a teenager in the '60s, Thompson helped pioneer British Folk Rock before launching a remarkable solo career spanning over three decades. His collaborations with his then-wife Linda Thompson and his solo projects have cemented his reputation as a trailblazing artist.
Thompson's accolades include an OBE awarded by Queen Elizabeth II, and recognition from Rolling Stone as one of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time. The Los Angeles Times hailed him as “the finest rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix.” He has earned lifetime achievement awards from the BBC Radio 2 Awards, the Americana Music Association, and the Ivor Novello Awards.
