Richard LeRoy Wilson - Paddle Out Ceremony & Memorial Bike Ride

Join us Saturday June 20th 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at Donheny beach in Dana Point, California for an in person gathering to honor Richard LeRoy Wilson with a heartfelt Paddle Out Ceremony followed by a Memorial Bike Ride.

It's a casual gathering where friends and family come together to celebrate Richard's life and legacy, and his love of the beach, surfing and riding bikes, or really anything with wheels (skateboards / scooters / rollerskates welcome too).

The paddle out ceremony, Richard's surfers last rights, will begin at 4:00 pm, at Doheny beach next to the jetty, led by his son Richard Curtis Wilson. The memorial bike ride will begin right after the paddle out ceremony,

All are encouraged and welcome to join in the paddle out, whether on the beach for support, or in the water. If needed for information on wetsuits and surboard rentals call Jack's surfboards in Dana Point, California.

Hawaiian Shirt Dress Code: In the spirit of our beloved Richard, we are requiring all family, loved ones and close friends to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt to honor his style.
