ريتشارد كوخ عازف بوق، ومؤلف، وقائد فرق موسيقية مقيم في برلين، يُعرف بأعماله في موسيقى الجاز والارتجال والموسيقى المعاصرة. تعاون مع نخبة من الموسيقيين العالميين، وأطلق عام 2025 مشروعه Rays of Light الذي حظي ألبومه الأول بإشادة نقدية واسعة.
فالنتين بوت – عازف أكورديون
فالنتين بوت عازف أكورديون، ومؤلف، ومدير موسيقي مقيم في برلين. اشتهر بتنوع أسلوبه الموسيقي، وشارك مع كبرى الأوركسترات ودور الأوبرا، من بينها أوركسترا برلين الفيلهارمونية، ويقدم أعمالًا تمتد بين الموسيقى الكلاسيكية والجاز والفولكلور والموسيقى المعاصرة.
فابيانا شتريفلر – عازفة كمان
فابيانا شتريفلر عازفة كمان ومؤلفة موسيقية تجمع في أعمالها بين الجاز والموسيقى الكلاسيكية. تعاونت مع عدد من أبرز الموسيقيين العالميين، وهي عضو في أوركسترا Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra الحائزة على جوائز. نال ألبومها الأول Mahagoni إشادة نقدية، ورُشحت لجائزة الجاز الألمانية عام 2022

عن الورشة
تمنح هذه الورشة التفاعلية المشاركين فرصة مميزة لاستكشاف العملية الإبداعية الكامنة وراء الأداء الموسيقي الجماعي المعاصر. ويقود أعضاء فرقة Rays of Light الورشة من خلال مزيج من العروض الموسيقية، والعمل الجماعي، والإرشاد المتخصص لكل آلة موسيقية.
سيتعرّف المشاركون إلى أساليب الفرقة في التأليف الموسيقي، وطرق البروفات، ولغتها الموسيقية، من خلال مناقشات، وعروض عملية، وجلسة أسئلة وأجوبة مفتوحة. كما سيشاركون في مجموعات عمل تركز على الارتجال، والأداء الجماعي، وتقديم مختارات من أعمال الفرقة، تحت إشراف وتوجيه مباشر من الموسيقيين.
وتتضمن الورشة أيضًا جلسات فردية تهدف إلى تطوير المهارات التقنية وأساليب الأداء الخاصة بكل آلة. ويُشجَّع المشاركون على إحضار مؤلفاتهم الموسيقية الخاصة، حيث ستتاح لهم فرصة العمل عليها، وأدائها، ومناقشتها خلال الورشة.
صُمِّمت هذه الورشة للموسيقيين الراغبين في تطوير مهاراتهم الإبداعية والأدائية، وتوفر تجربة تعليمية عملية تجمع بين الإلهام الفني والعمل التعاوني.

Richard Koch's Rays of Light Workshop
Composition, Improvisation
The Arts Center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Alexandria, is pleased to present an intensive three-day workshop led by the members of Rays of Light:
• Richard Koch – Trumpet
• Fabiana Striffler – Violin
• Valentin Butt – Accordion
Richard Koch – Trumpet
Berlin-based trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Richard Koch is recognized for his work in jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. He has collaborated with leading international artists and launched his chamber-acoustic quintet Rays of Light in 2025, whose debut album received critical acclaim.
Valentin Butt – Accordion
Valentin Butt is a Berlin-based accordionist, composer, and musical director. Renowned for his versatile artistry, he has performed with major orchestras and opera houses, including the Berlin Philharmonic, while working across classical, jazz, folk, and contemporary music.
Fabiana Striffler – Violin
Fabiana Striffler is a violinist and composer whose work bridges jazz and classical music. She has performed with internationally acclaimed artists and is a member of the award-winning Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. Her debut album Mahagoni earned critical acclaim, and she was nominated for the German Jazz Prize in 2022.

Eligibility
• Open to intermediate and advanced musicians.
• Musicians of all instruments are welcome.
• Participants are required to bring their own instruments.
• The workshop will be conducted in English.

About the Workshop
This interactive workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the creative process behind contemporary ensemble music. Led by the members of Rays of Light, the session combines artistic presentation, group collaboration, and instrument-specific guidance.
Participants will gain insight into the band’s compositional methods, rehearsal techniques, and musical language through discussions, live demonstrations, and an open Q&A. They will then work in ensembles on improvisation, collaborative performance, and selected repertoire, with direct mentoring from the musicians.
The workshop also includes individual sessions focused on developing technical skills and instrument-specific techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring their own compositions, which can be rehearsed, performed, and discussed during the workshop.
Designed for musicians seeking to expand their artistic expression, the workshop provides practical tools, creative inspiration, and valuable performance experience in a collaborative environment.
